Adding a New Attraction

  1. From the Attractions page, click New. The Attraction page opens with the General tab displayed.
  2. Enter the Name of the attraction. This field is required.
  3. Select the Type or category of the attraction from this drop-down list. This field is required. When the guest views the attractions on your Kigo web site, they can filter the attractions by this type. For example, the guest can use this filter to quickly locate all nearby restaurants. This field is required.
  4. Choose the Status of the attraction record from this drop-down list. This field is required. Only attractions with an active status appear on the Kigo web site. However, when creating a new attraction, we recommend that you choose the "Pending Approval" status, so that you don't inadvertently display the attraction to guests. Once you enter and check all information, you can update the status of the attraction to active, so that it appears for guests.
  5. Add a Summary description. Approximately the first 100 characters of this summary appear on the attractions overview page on the Kigo web site.
  6. Enter a detailed Description. This appears on the detail page for the attraction on your Kigo web site. Include any information that your guests may find helpful, such as distance from your property or operating hours.
  7. In the Contact section, add any contact details that your guests can use to contact the attraction and learn more. These fields are optional, but you can include:
    • E-mail address: This is included in the detailed attraction information that the guest can view on Kigo web sites.
    • Fax number: This field is for legacy versions of Kigo. This information does not appear on Kigo web sites.
    • Phone number: This is included in the detailed attraction information that the guest can view on Kigo web sites.
    • Toll-free phone number: This field is for legacy versions of Kigo. This information does not appear on Kigo web sites.
    • Alternate phone number: This field is for legacy versions of Kigo. This information does not appear on Kigo web sites.
    • Web site address: This field is for legacy versions of Kigo. This information does not appear on Kigo web sites.
  8. Enter the Address of the attraction. Review the Map and make sure that the property appears in the proper location. If not, use the Pin Point feature to update the location. Once you enter the address, you can click the More link, and view or update the information that has been extrapolated from the address that you entered.
  9. Select the Photos tab.
  10. At the Photos tab, add images of your property using the Add an Image or Add Multiple Images buttons. You can use images stored on your computer, or web-based images. Once you've uploaded your images, you can customize the Display Order and Caption for each image. This controls how the images appear in slide shows.
  11. Click Save to save your changes, or click Cancel to discard this attraction record without saving.

Attractions only appear for guests on the Kigo web site if the Status of the attraction is set to active.

Modifying an Existing Attraction

  1. From the Attractions page, use the search filters to locate the attraction that you want to work with.
  2. To make changes to a specific attraction, click anywhere on the row where the attraction is in the Attraction List. The Attraction page opens, and shows detailed information about the attraction that you've selected.
  3. Make any necessary updates to the fields, or click the Photos tab to manage images.
  4. To save your changes, click Save. To discard your changes, click Cancel instead.

Changing the Status of an Attraction

Using this procedure, you can only toggle the status between active and inactive. If you want to set the status as pending, follow the "Modifying an Existing Attraction" procedure, and choose the "Pending Approval" item from the Status drop-down list.

  1. From the Attractions page, use the search filters to locate the attraction that you want to work with.
  2. Locate the attraction or attractions that you wish to change the status of, and select the associated check boxes.
  3. Click Set Status, and then choose one of the options below:
    • Set Selected Records to Inactive: Choose this option to change the status of the selected attractions to inactive.
    • Set Select Records to Active: Choose this option to change the status of the selected attractions to active.
  4. The change is effective immediately.

Deleting an Attraction

We don't recommend that you delete a seasonal attraction, since you may need to recreate the attraction again in the future. Instead, change the status of the attraction to inactive. This hides the attraction from the guest on the Kigo web sites. When the seasonal attraction is open again, you can simply change the status back to active, and the attraction appears for guests on the Kigo web sites.

  1. From the Attractions page, use the search filters to locate the attraction that you want to delete.
  2. Locate the specific attraction or attractions that you want to remove and select the associated check boxes.
  3. Click More Actions, and then choose Delete. A confirmation message opens.
  4. Click OK to delete the attractions, or click Cancel to return to the Attractions page without deleting any records.
